Back pain is a condition with many causes. A chiropractor will work to correct and sublaxations of the spine. They will most often do this using their hands, but can also use a small hammer-like devise. Although when an adjustment is made a loud crack is often heard, it is not usually a painful experience for the patient.

Taking a Multi Facted Approach
Chiropractic practice is catagorised as a complimentary or additional medicine. It is not a natural or alternative treatment as many people think. It is a completely drug free process that is also non-invasive.
Chiropractic treatment expands far beyond spinal adjustment. Your treatment may also consist of massage. Your chiropractor will take ergonomics into consideration, and may have some questions about the kind of mattress you sleep on and chairs you use.
The may advise you to improve your diet and drink more water. Studies have shown that exercising for thirty minutes a day can wipe out almost all incidences of back pain. Yoga and pilates are often recommended by chiropractors to improve core strength.
